Home Remedies for Belching
Do you feel embarrassed when suddenly you have an involuntary belch or burp in public? Well, belching is a medical problem and also a social one as it lands a person in an embarrassing position. Belching refers to a condition in which gas is released from a person’s body through the mouth.
Belching can be caused by various factors like eating fast, drinking carbonated drinks or drinking in one go. Also, medical problems like indigestion and heartburns can also lead to the problem of belching or burping. Given below are some home remedies that can help you to effectively deal with this problem.
Since belching is primarily a result of excessive air in your stomach, you should try to prevent this problem. Chew well and also avoid talking while eating. Similarly, you should also avoid excessive chewing of gums as that can lead to gas formation in the body.
To avoid gas formation in the body, you need to identify its root cause. For instance, it might be a result of intake of certain food items like beans, cabbage or onions which might not get digested well by the body and also due to certain medical problems like ulcers. Thus, first find out the root cause and then eliminate that cause to naturally get over the problem of belching.
It has been found that adding about half teaspoon of baking soda in one glass of water and drinking that can help in naturally providing relief from the problem of belching. Similarly, garlic is another effective home remedy. You can take a few cloves of garlic before meals to prevent the problem of belching. Also, certain herbal teas can help in the digestion process of the body, thereby preventing belching and burping.
