Honey is one of the most common and effective cure for asthma. At the time of asthma attack, a jug full of honey should be placed under the nose of the patient as this helps in the easy breathing of the person. One can also mix 1 tsp of honey in a glass of water and have it 3 times a day to get relief from this respiratory disorder. In addition, honey can also be used along with radish and lemon to cure asthma. For this, one needs to blend radish, honey and lemon juice in a blender and mix it for 20 minutes. It should be then cooked in a small pan on less heat. One teaspoon of this herbal mixture should be taken in the morning to prevent and cure the problem of asthma. The roots of bitter gourd plant have been used since ancient times for the effective treatment of asthma. A teaspoon of the root paste mixed with an equal amount of honey can act as an excellent medicine for this disease. Similarly, steaming ginger tea with minced garlic cloves should be given twice a day to asthmatic patients.

In addition to these herbal and natural remedies, one should avoid dusty places and exposure to extreme weather conditions along with keeping oneself away from mental worries and tensions as all these factors can trigger off an asthmatic attack in a person. Thus, being happy and tension free can play an important role in a happy and a healthy living.
