Hip Exercises
Having a slim and a well toned body is a desire expressed by most of us- be it men or women. However, exercises not only help you to remain in shape, they are also essential for keeping you fit.
It is for this reason that hip exercises are gaining in popularity as they help in strengthening your hip muscles which in turn helps in providing protection from various problems like osteoarthritis.
It is your hip region which is involved in a variety of movements of your body. It is thus necessary to keep your hips in a healthy and fit condition so that you can lead a self dependent and a healthy life. Here are some simple hip exercises which can be easily performed at home.
If you are unable to go to gym, don’t worry. Take out time for yourself on a regular basis and perform these simple hip exercises. Start with the exercise ‘Straight leg raise’.
As the name suggests, this exercise involves straightening of one leg at a time. You should first lie on your back with your knees bent and feet kept straight and flat. Then stretch your leg and then slowly lift it up, keep it in a raised position for some seconds and then slowly bring it down.
Another beneficial exercise for your hips is ‘Hip flexion’. This is an exercise which is performed while standing. First stand straight and slowly lift one leg in such a way that it creates a right angle.
Keep your leg in that position for some seconds and then slowly bring it back to its original place. You should then perform the same steps with your other leg.
Along with the above given exercises, simple walking will also help in keeping your hips healthy. Thus follow the given exercises to naturally strengthen your hip muscles.
