Healthy eating tips for workaholic- read it out!

October 15, 2008

Undoubtedly half of our present generation is engaged in 9-to-5 jobs. Their daily routine includes waking up late in morning, rushing to their breakfast tables and most of them believe in skipping it. Rushing hard to offices and then having a hurried lunch with coffee and cigarettes breaks in-between. By tea time, they make a run for a burger, muffins, biscuits or some other cafeteria snack and by the time they land up their home back they are too tired to cook a meal for themselves. So, either they order up the stuff from some restaurant or just rustle up with instant noodles. But do you know this eating pattern is certainly harmful for your body type? Therefore here are some healthy eating tips for all you workaholics-go through it!

If you order a lunch in your cafeteria, ask the chef to cook a low-fat meal for you. Remember all you need to do is ask.

Do you know that your neighborhood grocery store is full of healthy veggies like broccoli, corns, sprouts, peppers, olives, mushrooms, cucumbers and many more items? All you need to do is take time from your busy schedule, explore them, buy and mix a salad.

It doesn’t take much time to put one or two whole fruits like banana, apple or pear into your office bag. Fruit is much better afternoon snack than that greasy samosa that you eat in evening times at your office cafeteria. Plus Whole fruit gives you essential vitamins, minerals and fibre.

If you must eat instant noodles or pastas, throw in some chopped raw veggies, some roasted chicken breast or even an egg. Not only will it taste better but it will also be much, much healthier for your body for sure!
