Healthy and tasty jams for your toddlers
Dry fruits jam
Ingredients
1 kg dry fruits (anjeer, khubani, khajoor, apples), 700 gm sugar
Method
Soak the dry fruits in water and wash them nicely. De-seed them.
Soak the dry fruits in clean water.
When the dry fruits turn soft, add sugar in them and cook them on low flame.
When chaashni becomes thick, add as many chopped dry fruits you want and keep aside to cool down.
Fill them in bottles and sprinkle few drops of kevra.
Your dry fruits jam is ready.
Apple jam
Ingredients
2 kg apples, 2 kg sugar, 20 cardamom, few drops of kevra
Method
Peel off the apple and then chop it into small pieces.
Pour all the apple pieces into water and bring them to boil on low flame in steel utensil.
When apples get soft, add sugar and keep cooking and stirring till thick solution gets prepared.
Take off the utensil from the flame and then add kevra drops to it with cardamom powder. Now keep it aside to cool down.
Pour it into clean container; your apple jam is ready.
Rasberry jam
Ingredients
2 kg rasberry, 600 gm sugar
Method
Peel of the rasberries.
Prepare sugar syrup in pan on high flame. When sugar syrup gets thick, add the rasberries to it. Cook the solution continuously with wooden spoon.
When solution gets thicker, take it off from the flame and keep aside to cool down.
Pour the jam into clean bottle and eat as and when you want.
Rasberry and tomato jam
Ingredients
1 kg rasberry, 1 kg tomatoes, 1 kg sugar
Method
Wash the tomatoes and boil them in pan on low flame.
Sieve them through thin cloth.
Wash the rasberries and add them to the tomato juice.
Cook the above mixture on low flame for 1 1/2 hour.
While cooking, add the sugar syrup to the mixture and keep stirring it.
When mixture gets highly thick in consistency, keep it aside to cool down.
Fill into bottles. Jam is ready.
