Health Benefits of Organic Food
There is a rapid increase in the consumption of organic food due to a rising health consciousness among people. Along with possessing a better taste than non-organic food items, organic food is also richer in nutritional and health value. Since they do not involve any use of artificial stuff, they are a safer bet to attain the overall well-being of a person. In addition, they are also beneficial for the environment as they discourage the use of artificial chemicals thereby protecting air, water and soil pollution.
Did you know that over 400 different pesticides are used in non-organic farming which along with killing pesticides, also make food semi-poisonous for human’s consumption? It is due to this reason that various problems related to stomach infections and disorders are increasing day by day. In contrast to this, organic food items are safe and healthy as they are pure without any interference of artificial fertilizers. Along with providing protection to one’s health, they are also invaluable for environmental safety and purity.
It has been found that fruits and vegetables grown organically contain more antioxidants which in turn provide numerous health benefits along with providing protection from the killer cancer disease. With the increase in fertilizers and pesticides, there is a decrease in the production of antioxidants like flavonoids which are essential for the safeguarding of one’s body from various health related problems. In addition, organic food has more nutritional value as they contain loads of minerals and Vitamin C which is required for the optimum functioning of the body. According to a research, organic food is any day better and nutritious than non-organic food as the former contains 27 percent more Vitamin C, 29 percent more magnesium, 21 percent more iron and 14 percent more phosphorus in comparison to their conventional counterparts. Instead of exposing oneself to the harmful effects of fertilizers and pesticides, one should adopt the healthy mode of organic food which is an attractive package as it provides health with taste.
