Possessing a deep violet color in its ripe form, Brinjal contains many essential nutrients which are needed for the overall well-being of the body. Having a high content of water, fiber and potassium, Brinjal is believed to possess many medicinal properties which can help in fighting cancer, hypertension and diabetes amongst other problems. This is because Brinjal, commonly known as the eggplant, has anti diabetic and antihaemorrhoidal properties along with being a cholesterol regulator. Thus, its intake can help in preventing as well as curing various health related disorders.

Brinjal can be made in a variety of forms which help in treating various health problems. It has been found that drinking a soup made of brinjal and tomato helps in increasing one’s appetite along with aiding in digestion. Similarly, taking a mashed form of brinjal or soup made with the addition of asafetida and garlic can help in getting rid of the problem of flatulence. It effectively helps in treating acidity, congestion and phlegm. For this, one needs to roast brinjal on fire and eat it by adding little salt on its peeled body. Moreover, a high intake of brinjal can help in the destruction of stones in their initial stages.

Eating brinjal is good for the overall health of a person as it is an effective way of maintaining optimum cholesterol level in the body. In addition, it can effectively treat the problem of enlarged spleen which is caused due to malaria. For this one should eat a soft baked brinjal with added raw sugar on an empty stomach. For those who have the problem of disturbed and sleepless nights, eating of brinjal can be a great help as it helps in curing insomnia. Eating baked brinjal with honey can help in providing you with a peaceful and a sound sleep. Thus, one should make it a point to include brinjal in one’s diet so as to live a happy and a healthy life.
