Hair tips for monsoons

August 13, 2008

Frizzy, oily and limp hairs are considered inevitable in monsoon. Here’s how you can give your mane the attention it deserves in rainy weather.

First and foremost, make sure you keep your hair simple. Stick with easy hairstyles. Elaborate ones are more difficult to mange and redo. Mind it that limp damp hair does not look good. So you tie your hair back into a bun or a high pony tail.

Say a big no to hair sprays and gels during the monsoons as the use of such chemicals makes your hair ‘lacquered’ causing dandruff.

Make sure you wash your hair on regular basis to make them look fresh and clean.

Massage your scalp with warm oil to keep dandruff and other hair problems at bay. You can also massage your scalp with your fingertips every night to maintain the good flow of blood circulation in your upper part.

If you have long hair, tie it up into a topknot when going out. Also, keep in mind that short haircut into neat tapering style bounce back into shape more quickly as they dries up.

Undoubtedly keeping a nice and a good quality hair dryer in your carry bag to your workplace is always a great idea. It provides you the easy way of drying your wet hair for attending any important business development that may occur the next moment.

Mind it that oiling your hair may not be the hottest thing that you do in this wet season. Oiling may leave you with greasy, stinky hair look if you get wet in the rain.

If you have long hair, make sure you dry it as soon as it gets wet. Keeping a Turkish towel and a travel hairdryer at your workplace is also a good idea.

Mind it, if you travel a lot; go for a trim haircut because hair that gets wet often is better off short.
