Everyone has a desire to look beautiful and beauty cannot be complete without proper care of one’s hair. Whether one’s hair is straight, curly, wavy or thick, the basic requirement demands them to be healthy, desirable and manageable. Just like our body, our hair too is vulnerable to the stresses and strains of life and thus needs adequate care and nourishment. There are three basic requirements to attain beautiful hair: good health, instinct of cleanliness and intelligent and cautious use of cosmetic products.
A Healthy and a nutritious diet
Just like our body needs food to grow, our hair too needs a balanced and a nutritious diet to stay healthy. A deficiency of iron in one’s diet leads to hair fall and hair loss. One’s diet should be rich in iron if one has a problem of falling hair and should also consist of fresh fruits and vegetables which along with providing vitamin C , also help the body to absorb iron. Similarly, water is an important component which helps to keep our hair silky and shiny. Hence it is advisable to drink 8 to 10 glasses of water to attain maximum benefit.
Cleanliness is Godliness
One of the most important ways to take care of your hair is to believe in the concept of cleanliness. Washing one’s hair twice a week is a must to ensure the health of one’s scalp. Shampoos which contain moisturizers and oils like coconut are better than those which contain alcohol as the latter has the tendency to damage one’s hair owing to excessive dryness. Use of a conditioner after shampooing is good idea as it helps to protect one’s hair from counter acting dryness thereby making them smooth and silky.
Cautious use of Cosmetics
Excessive bleaching and dying of hair can prove harmful to hair as well as to scalp as it can lead to allergies and inflammation of scalp. Bleaching of hair with hydrogen peroxide can make the hair brittle over a period of time. It is always advisable to go in for natural and herbal treatment of hair by using natural products like henna, rosemary herbal oil, amala and black sesame seeds which are useful for preventing graying of hair.
