Foods that Improve Eyesight
A majority of people hate wearing specs as it hides their main beauty asset- their eyes. You might say that contact lenses are available and you also have many trendy and stylish specs. But does this give you the freedom to spoil your eyesight? Definitely not. Eyes are one of the most critical and beautiful part of our body as they make the world colorful and beautiful for us. However, due to unhealthy lifestyle, a majority of people, even small children suffer from poor eyesight. Given below are some foods which can naturally help you improve your eyesight.
When we talk of food for sight, we generally first think of Vitamin A. After all, a deficiency of this vitamin leads to the problem of night blindness. This essential vitamin for eyesight can be found in plant with carotenes like carrots, cabbage, and lettuce. It can also be found in green and yellow vegetables, butter eggs, fish liver oils, milk and sweet potatoes. Ever wondered why your mother always forced you to eat green vegetables? This is because green leafy vegetables are rich in cartenoids which protects eyes from harmful effects of sun along with promoting the overall health of eyes. Cold water fish are an excellent source of DHA which help in the treatment of dry eyes, macular degeneration and sight preservation. Food items like eggs, garlic, onions, and shallots help in providing important antioxidants for the health of eyes. All kinds of fresh fruits and vegetables are beneficial for eyesight as they are rich in important vitamins and nutrients. Fruits like blueberries and grapes are also known to improve night vision. Other foods for sight include lemons, whole grains, cabbage, black currants, broccoli and apricots.
Include the above mentioned food items in your diet for a healthy and improved eyesight.
