Foods that can keep you warm during winters

Undoubtedly wiener brings in its wake an array of common health ailments. It causes irritating running nose, sniffles galore, soar throats and high temperature. But if adequate care is taken, you can always prevent such wintry ailments. Here, in this article some special foods are mentioned that can help you in warding off winter woes in an effective manner, so just read them out!

Remember winters not just ask you to wear warm but also to eat and drink warm. But this doesn’t mean to overload yourself with lot of hot beverages. Jus keep a balance of everything that you eat. If you can’t do without your daily cuppa, then instead of adding milk to it, add some lemon. Lemon is rich in antioxidants and provides you with lot of relief from acidity problem.

You will be glad to read that jaggery is one of the specialties of winter season. Taking a small piece of jaggery in your diet helps in warding off aliments like cough, indigestion and constipation. So don’t forget to have a cube everyday irrespective of your sex or age.

Increase your intake of protein rich foodstuff in winters, this is because protein increases thermogenesis in your body that helps you to stay toasty warm. For this, you can always feed yourself with eggs, both red and white meat, pulses, dietary products like milk, fishes and millets.

Don’t forget to add spice to your diet. Trust me, spices tremendously helps in fighting against cold and cough infections. Go for ginger, haldi, cinnamon, fenugreek, garlic and nutmeg. Have a pinch of turmeric mixed in a glass of milk to increase your body’s immunity against seasonal ailments.

Eat lots of dry fruits during winter season. Include them in the delicacies that you prepare during this winter season. Feed yourself with lots of cashews, almonds walnuts and raisins.
