Find it hard to resist your favorite food? Here’s what you can do!

August 21, 2008

Does a single glance over chocolate screams “eat me” at you? Well in that case- don’t panic much. Trust me; you don’t have to cut out your favorite foods every time to stay healthy or loose weight. In fact depriving yourself of such tempting stuff can actually make your cravings much worse. So, here are some easy and simple ways what you can do when hit by such a situation.

If you find it hard to resist chocolates then have them in different ways by either melting them in microwave or grating .dunk strawberries into chocolate that’s been blitzed in the microwave for few seconds. By this method, you will certainly eat less and also hit your fruits servings too. Or, by using a potato peeler, cheese grater or sharp knife grate some good quality dark chocolate containing 70% cocoa solids. This teeny amount will surely make a huge pile.

If you can’t resists drinks, then fill up your glass with more number of ice cubes than usual. You can even add soda water to your drinks too. Do you know that drinking through straws makes you drink fewer amounts than otherwise? So, go for that!

If you can’t resist salty food then make sure you add the salt after food is cooked. Remember that if salt gets stirred in while cooking, you use more of it .so add when food is on the table. Also, rather than using a shaker, grind the sea salt. This is because it gives more intense hit and you’ll need less. You can also replace salt with herbs, spices, lemon juice and chilies. Trust me; it will only take four weeks for your taste bud to get used to less salty food.
