Facial Skin Care

November 5, 2008

Our skin needs proper nurturing for that perfect glow which is not artificial but a reflection of proper health. If you think that there is some secret behind a perfectly glowing skin, then you are wrong. There is no secret, just a natural formula which is simple and basic: proper skin care, right amount of sleep, proper diet and exercise. You need to take proper care of your skin so that your skin reflects that through natural glow and radiance.

The basic facial care routine demands cleansing, toning and moisturizing.  Cleansing is the first step which requires you to wash your face so as to remove old makeup and the oils and grease which get accumulated over the day. However, do not frequently wash your face as that would make it dry. In the morning you should clean your face with luke-warm water and a creamy cleanser or purifying gel wash. Avoid frequent use of soap bars as they strip the skin of essential moisture making it dry and dull. If you want to remove mascara, do that with the help of a cotton bud dipped in eye-cleansing lotion. After cleansing of face, one needs to tone it. Toners remove all traces of dirt, make-up or cleanser that remain after cleansing. Immediately after cleansing apply toner to the forehead and cheeks on a pad of cotton wool. After cleansing and toning, one needs to moisturize the skin to keep it hydrated for that soft and supple feel and look. You need moisturizers to protect the skin from dryness during dry weathers in particular.

Other facial care tips say that you should never go to bed with your makeup on. This may lead to blemishes and blackheads. Also avoid excessive contact with sunlight and keep your face clean and clear for a naturally healthy look.
