Make your eyes remain forever
It is a natural human tendency to take for granted anything which is inherently given to him/her and it is only once we lose that thing that we realize its importance. But vision is such a precious gift that one should never take the chance of neglecting its importance because if lost, it can convert your colorful, vivid world into a series of dark shadows. Eye care thus forms one of the key factors of maintaining one’s health and should be taken seriously by everyone. Eye problems become common with growing age as seen in the growing problems of cataract and glaucoma. While these diseases can be treated medically, one can prevent the occurrence of such diseases by sincerely indulging in eye care activities from one’s early age.

Way towards healthy eyesight is through a nutritious diet
A nutritious and a balanced diet consisting of fresh fruits and green, leafy vegetables contains in it vitamin A, chromium and zinc which in turn play an important part in maintaining the health of one’s eye. Moreover, it is found that a diet low in refined sugars can help to maintain one’s eyesight sharp. People with obesity or diabetes should have more routine checkups since they are more likely to develop certain eye diseases.
In addition, one should focus on leading a healthy lifestyle as smoking and alcohol drinking can slow down the healthy circulation of the blood which in turn can damage one’s eyes.

Sun’s damaging light
Exposure of one’s eye to direct sunlight can cause lens irritation and can also lead to its damage over a period of time. Thus, one should invest in good quality sunglasses to get a reward of healthy eyesight in one’s later years.

Too much computer and TV
According to Professor Grierson, one should take a break after every 30 minutes when one is working on a computer because long times near a screen can damage one’s eye muscles and can lead to eye strain or eye fatigue.

One should take extreme care of one’s eyes and should get a yearly check-up done to remain healthy and fit. Moreover, eye exercises are a good way to achieve longer health of one’s eyes and they are also helpful in treating certain eye problems like lazy eyes, blurred vision and others. Eyes is a gift of God which needs to be nurtured and cherished as it is that gift which can be gifted further to dispel the darkness of the world. One may live and die but eyes remain forever.
