Exercises for healthy eyesight

March 7, 2009

Hey girls and guys, here are some easy and simple yogic exercises mentioned below in the article that can certainly help in improving your eyesight. So don’t waste any time and incorporate them in your daily fitness regime to enjoy healthy vision for a longer period of time.

Raise any arm to the eye level and form a fist, with the thumb out and pointing up. Now, bend your arm at the elbow and bring your hand closer fixed on the thumb. When the thumb is close to your nose, return to base position slowly while keeping your eyes fixed on it. Rest your eyes for a while. Repeat twice.

Keep your face and neck straight. Open your eyes wide and rotate your eyeballs clockwise, slowly. Then rotate in the anticlockwise direction. Repeat five times each way.

Sit straight and raise your right arm to shoulder level. Now form a fist with your right hand, with thumb out and pointing upwards. Keep the arm perfectly in line with your eyes and look at the thumb without blinking, for as long as you can.
Next, move your arm further to the right but keep your eyes focused on the thumb. Don’t turn your head at all follow the thumb with your gaze alone.
When your thumb moves out of your line of sight completely, bring your hand back to base position and close your eyes. Let your eyes rest for a minute. Repeat for the left hand. Perform the entire sequence twice.

Open and close your eyes in quick, blinking motion. Repeat this 25-30 times and then close your eyes and allow them to rest for a minute.

Rub your palms together till they feel arm. Then place your palms over your closed eyes. When they cool down, remove them. Relax!
