Effects of Dehydration on your Body
Excessive sweating, less intake of water and diarrhea are some of the common factors that lead to dehydration. However, dehydration in itself is a problem that leads to various complications and medical problems.
This article will talk about some of the common effects of dehydration on your body.
If you are dehydrated, then you will most probably feel weak and fatigued. Your blood volume decreases if your body lacks required amount of water. This in turn leads to less nutrients and oxygen being delivered to the cells, thereby leading to fatigue and weakness.
You will thus find yourself sleepy and yawning in class or during meetings as your body doesn’t have the required energy levels.
In addition, you can also suffer from nausea. Your concentration and grasping power will go down and you can also suffer from headaches.
Dehydration can also lead to many digestive disorders in the body.
Many people who are dehydrated also complain of frequent cramping of their muscles and they can also suffer from irregular heartbeats.
Dehydration has a negative effect on your skin too. People who are dehydrated often complain of dry and scaly skin.
Water helps in regulating your body temperature and it also helps in flushing out toxins from your body. Lack of water in the body or dehydration can thus disrupt the healthy functioning of some vital organs in the body.
Liver is an organ which is adversely affected when your body is deprived of water. In addition, dehydration can lead to your putting on extra weight. This is because dehydration slows down your metabolic rate and the rate at which your body burns fat.
If you want to remain healthy and fit, then you must have adequate water so that your body is not dehydrated.
