Easy Guidelines For Effective Study

September 8, 2008

First of all before taking any subjects for studying- be specific about what you want to accomplish. For example, complete the exercise of lesson 10, or to study biology, it’s too abroad.

Secondly, work onmanaging distracting thoughts and daydreaming. This usually occurs when your mind has to choose between something pleasure and something demanding, so make use of all your powers to stop yourself from getting distracted from outside forces and focus on your studies only with full concentration.

If you frequently get distracted by various things when you sit to study, make list of those thoughts on a piece of paper. Once you get over with your studies, think about those distracting stuff for next ten minutes. Trust me, once you give the thoughts the attention they require, they will start bothering you less day by day.

Resist the desire to snack up, get up, watch television or listen to your I-pods or answers your friend’s calls in between the periods of your studying. Reward yourself with such acts only when you have completed your task of studying.

For boosting concentration, follow a strict schedule, have eight hours of sound sleep. Remember that lack of sufficient activities, lack of sleep, depriving yourself from nutritious healthy food, excessive fatigue, and higher level of stress can affect your concentration power badly, so look out for these factors.

Make it a point to address personal problems either before or after your studying period. If problems distract you now and then, note it down on a piece of paper and then talk about it with someone trustworthy so that you can unburden yourself. Remember that any kind of emotional disturbances can be the major reason for your lack of concentration.

Hope the above tips will help you tremendously in doing effective study.
