Drawbacks of Trans Fats
Most of us are aware of the fact that Trans Fats are unhealthy and harmful for our body. But why they are harmful is something most of us are unaware of.
The result is that many of us just hear the news of Trans Fats being unhealthy but do not take the necessary action of removing it from our diet. This article will provide you reasons for avoiding intake of Trans Fats so that you can take an informed decision.
To begin with, Trans Fats are unhealthy for your heart. You must have heard this line many times; but do you know why they are harmful for your heart? This is because Trans Fats increase the levels of ‘bad’ cholesterol in the blood and also lead to a dip in the levels of good HDL.
This in turn leads to hardening of arteries, making one vulnerable to heart attacks, strokes, and coronary heart diseases.
Medical research on Trans Fats states that these fats have a tendency of increasing inflammation in the body which in turn increases risk of cardiovascular problem and even diabetes.
They further seem to increase the risk probability of diabetes by lowering insulin resistance in the body.
Having Trans Fats will lead to large sacks of fat getting deposited in your body, especially around the abdominal region. This in turn will make you obese and will also make you vulnerable to various kinds of health complications that are associated with obesity.
Trans Fats are thus unhealthy and harmful for the overall health of a person. Growing awareness of such drawbacks is a major reason why food items these days have a label of being Trans Fat free. You must thus be careful and cautious and choose only those food products that are free of such harmful Trans Fats.
