Different Batter For All Of You!

There is wide range of batters that one can prepare which has been tried and tested over the years; some of them are mentioned below-just read them out!

Bangla batter

Hey this bangla batter is a big hit in any season and any place at any time. So read it on!

Ingredients:

2tbsp atta, 2 tbsp plain flour, 1 tbsp rice flour, ½ tsp kalonji, 1 tsp sesame seeds, 1 tbsp mustard oil, ¼ tsp baking powder, ¼ tsp salt, water

Method:

Mix the oil with all the dry ingredients until smooth. Add the water a little stirring constantly until it forms a batter. It needs to be relatively thin, like a pancake batter. Add chopped vegetables of your choice and fry.

Beer batter

Do you know that the ever-popular beer batter is a great way to use all the bottles lying in your larder? Isn’t that good news? So what’s stopping you read the ingredients below and prepares the same!

Ingredients:

1 egg, 250 ml beer, 150 gm plain flour, ¼ tsp salt, ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (you can add some black pepper or green chilies instead of paprika if you wish)

Method:

Beat the eggs lightly. Add all the dry ingredients. Mix well. Gradually add the beer and whisk until smooth. This too, must have the consistency of pancake batter, not very thick at all. Once again, pick vegetables of your choice, chop, mix with batter and fry!

Buttermilk batter

If yours is a home where buttermilk is always in the refrigerator, here’s an idea to put it to good use.

Ingredients:

250 ml buttermilk, 150 gm plain flour, ¼ tsp soda bicarbonate, ¼ tsp salt, ½ tsp of whatever spices you would use for your buttermilk

Method:

Beat all the ingredients together until a smooth batter is formed. You can fry yummy bhajjias with this lovely batter.
