Diet for a Healthy Heart
One lives till the time one’s heart beats. But this heart is stopping very frequently these days as heart diseases have become one of the main life snatchers of both men and women. However, the blame lies entirely on individuals themselves as in the attempt of satisfying one’s taste, one indulges in an unhealthy eating habit which eventually leads to accumulating heart problems.
Thus, one should focus on a well balanced and a nutritious diet which can lead to an increase in longevity.
For a healthy and a happy heart, one should choose a diet which is less in fat and sodium and higher in fiber content. Fats like saturated fats and Trans fats which are generally found in milk, cheese and butter should be avoided as they are more likely to cause heart diseases. Similarly, eating less of sodium can help lower some people’s blood pressure. Excess of Sodium can be avoided by avoiding excess of salt in one’s food.
The most common and basic fact known by all is that one needs to eat less calories so that one does notput on extra weight which in turn could prevent the pressurization of the heart. Moreover, one should choose foods which are low in cholesterol. These include fruits, vegetables, whole grains and moderate amount of lean meat and skinless poultry. In addition, eating plenty of soluble fiber and oats can help lower ones ‘bad’ cholesterol in the blood.
A hearty and a healthy diet isn’t just about what one should avoid in one’s diet. It also lays equal emphasis on the intake of a healthy diet which is rich in fruits and vegetables with whole grains and high fiber foods. One can also eat omega-3 fatty acids from plant sources, such as soybeans, canola, walnuts, and flaxseed.
The way towards a healthy, happy and a hearty life is in our control and one should follow a healthy and a nutritious diet to help your heart beat forever.
