Your boss just rejected your work or your boyfriend just dumped your proposal. Rejection is something which is quite common and everyone has to deal with this bitter experience sometimes in life. Rejection has to be taken in the right spirit so as to positively progress and move up in life. One cannot take rejection as a mark of everlasting failure as that would lead to an adoption of negative attitude. It is natural to feel bad and even angry on being rejected but that rejection should not hamper one’s self confidence as that would bring in feelings of one being small, unwanted and even worthless. In extreme cases, a small rejection in sensitive people can also have extreme repercussions as it can lead to the problem of depression. One thus needs to learn to effectively handle rejections so that one can learn from them and use it as stepping stones to success.

Everyone has to face with this bitter experience sometimes in life and it can be rejection in the personal or professional front. However, one should not take it too personally. While it is harder done that said, one should try to get over it as soon as possible and instead of looking at it as a sign of some internal failure, one should simply accept rejection and use it as a source of motivation to perform much better the next time. Rejection should be looked up as a learning experience and not as a confidence hampering one. Instead of indulging in blame game by blaming yourself or the other person, one should involve oneself in positive thoughts and activities. Feeling hurt after being rejected is natural, but making that rejection as the benchmark of one’s life is nothing but a process of regression. Sharing your feelings with others, learning and accepting rejection and moving ahead in life is the right way of dealing with rejection. Don’t let rejection overshadow your confidence, self esteem and pride but use it to better your future prospects by turning rejections into stepping stones of success.
