Cosmetic Surgery
July 10, 2008
Cosmetic surgeries are slowly gaining a lot of importance as many people who are dissatisfied with their body and looks, find this as a perfect means of attaining the desired effect. People are getting so attracted towards this prospect of beautifying oneself, that the fear associated with the term ‘surgery’ is also fading away. However, surgeries, be it of any kind, carry certain amount of risks and complications with them and this is true even with cosmetic surgeries. Though modern techniques have diminished most of the complications associated with this kind of surgery, risks like blood clots, airway obstruction, nerve damage and others do exist, though at minimal level.
Along with leading to a leaner, thinner and a prettier look, cosmetic surgeries are also associated with an increase in confidence and self esteem. Instead of being conscious of one’s physical defects, people are opting for cosmetic surgeries to enhance their body and looks. Aesthetic plastic surgeries can be performed on the various parts of the body and common cosmetic treatments include breast augmentation, breast reduction, liposuction, nose surgery, face lifting, facial implants, hair restoration and laser skin resurfacing amongst others.
Though it is true that cosmetic surgeries help in fulfilling the beauty demands and desires of a person, it should not be undertaken for minor and small defaults. It has been found that many teenagers in particular are willing to go under the knife to get their bodies repaired. Though, it seems to be a fast and easy way out for many people, it is not completely devoid of risks and complications. Hence, one should first try out natural methods of effective eating and exercising before taking a drastic step. Similarly, small defects of the body should not be taken so seriously as beauty exists in feeling confident and good about yourself and is not necessarily associated with a perfect figure or perfect, killing looks. If one is very adamant of getting a plastic surgery done, one should consult with a good plastic surgeon and understand the risks involved in it before putting oneself under the knife.
