Chronic Stomach Ache in Children
Stomach ache is a common problem and most of us are affected by it. There are many children who remain uncomfortable and irritated due to the problem of chronic stomach ache.
This article will throw light on some common causes of chronic stomach ache in children so that you can effectively prevent and treat the problem in time.
One of the prime causes of stomach ache, be it in children or adults, is that of indigestion. Improper eating habits and excessive intake of fried and junk food often leads to stomach ache.
Small children are usually of fizzy drinks. This in turn can often lead to acidity and gas formation, eventually leading to stomach ache. Applying a hot water bottle on the abdomen can help in providing relief to children suffering from such kinds of stomach aches.
There are many children who have the problem of constipation and this problem in turn often leads to stomach ache in children. Along with wrong eating habits, stomach ache can also be a result of some food allergy.
Thus, if you find your child complaining of stomach ache, vomiting and diarrhea after intake of a particular food item, then you must get a food allergy check done.
If your child complains of frequent stomach aches, then it can be a sign of some underlying medical problem like appendicitis. In addition, emotional and psychological factors are also responsible for the problem of stomach ache in children.
It has been found that children who have a lot of stress and anxiety in their life or who are emotionally disturbed often suffer from chronic stomach ache.
Children with chronic stomach ache usually develop an irritable behavior due to their constant discomfort. Thus, it is essential to find out the cause behind the problem so as to effectively treat it in time.
