Causes of Weight Loss
Well, we all love that word ‘weight loss’ as in today’s world where size zero is in, no one wants even a single extra pound on their body. Well, the world is becoming generous when in comes to shedding off weight.
While there is no denying the fact that having a perfect figure and a thin but strong body is healthy, you must gain this weight loss the healthy way- that is through a healthy altered lifestyle.
But if without undertaking any exercise or diet change, you find yourself shedding unexplained pounds, then you should not just sit there smiling thinking of it as God’s mercy.
Instead, you need to get yourself checked as unexplained weight loss is not healthy and can be a sign of some underlying problem, something even serious like that of cancer.
If you are not losing weight the healthy way, which is through diet and exercise, then your body needs a checkup. This is because unexplained weight loss can be a warning bell for some underlying medical condition like an overactive thyroid gland.
Medically termed as hyperthyroidism, the person affected by this problem suffers from extreme weight loss which is not healthy. Similarly, other serious problems like cancer and even AIDS and tuberculosis have weight loss as one of their main symptoms.
It has also been found that certain old age problems like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson disease can lead to unexplained weight loss. Along with some medical conditions as mentioned above, there are also certain emotional and psychological factors responsible for unexplained weight loss in a person.
If a person is depressed, lonely, and alienated or undergoing some sort of emotional stress, then you might find that person reducing in weight. This is generally attributed to loss of appetite and inadequate nutritional diet.
Thus, don’t feel elated if you find yourself losing weight without any particular reason. You need to get it investigated to lead a healthy and happy life.
