Causes of Eye Wrinkles

eyecare00We all dread at the thought of wrinkles as they are seen as a sign of becoming old and aged. Eye wrinkles need to be prevented on time so that you can retain your youthful look and radiance. To prevent eye wrinkles, you need to know the causes of them and this article will throw light on such causes.

While there is no denying the fact that age is a major cause of eye wrinkles, there are also other causes of it. Sun is one such cause as overexposure to UV rays can lead to formation of wrinkles around the eyes.

Tanning can lead to eye wrinkles. Thus, protecting your eyes from sun’s harmful rays can help in preventing eye wrinkles.

Smoking and drinking alcohol are other causes of eye wrinkles. You must have noticed people who drink and smoke often look older than their age as these habits lead to dehydration of body and skin which in turn lead to formation of eye wrinkles.

You need to keep your skin well hydrated to ensure your skin remains healthy and wrinkle free. In addition, smoking also loosens up your skin which leads to wrinkling around the eyes. Don’t squint a lot as squinting is another major cause of eye wrinkles.

If you spend long hours watching TV or staying in front of computer screens, then you might end up with eye wrinkles. Also, you should ensure you get adequate sleep and you provide proper rest to your eyes.

Given above are the various causes of eye wrinkles. Thus, by looking at the causes, we can say that to prevent eye wrinkles, you should take proper care of your diet and lifestyle and also ensure that you prevent your eyes from the harmful effects of sun, smoking, and drinking.
