Causes of Dehydration

dehydrationKeeping your body hydrated through adequate intake of fluids is essential for a healthy living. When we think of dehydration, we always think of lack of water intake by a person.

While there is no denying the fact that lack of fluids is the prime cause of dehydration, there are also other causes which can trigger lack of fluids or dehydration in the body. This article will highlight such causes.

First of all, dehydration is most common in dry and sunny weather. This is because during the hot season, our body loses water through frequent sweating. Sweating can also be caused during exercising and thus it becomes essential to increase your intake of water and fluids to replace the fluids lost in the body.

If you are suffering from diarrhea and vomiting, then your might get dehydrated as these ailments lead to substantial fluid loss from the body. Children are more susceptible to dehydration due to diarrhea.

Thus, it is necessary for you to replenish your body’s lost liquids through liquid and minerals intake. Fever is another ailment which can lead to your body becoming dehydrated.

If your body is dehydrated, then it is possible that it might be because of some underlying problem. Diabetes is one such problem as a diabetic patient suffers from frequent urination. Also other problems like those of kidney stones can also lead to dehydration of the body.

After looking at the above mentioned causes, it is easier to understand the cause behind your dehydrated body. Being aware of the causes also help you to prevent and treat the problem in a timely manner.

The solution to the problem of dehydration is a simple one- drink plenty of water and also increase your intake of electrolytes and minerals for staying fit and healthy.
