Causes of Body Odor

bodyorderYou must have noticed that there are times when your body exhibits a particular kind of odor despite your keeping yourself completely hygienic and clean. There are various factors that can lead to that unpleasant smell in a person’s body and this article will highlight such causes.

The most common cause of body odor is excessive body sweat. When you sweat a lot, bacteria thrive on the regions of your body affected by sweat and cause that unpleasant odor. Thus, it has been found that armpits and feet if trapped in shoes sweat a lot and lead to a bad body odor.

Along with sweat and perspiration, there are various other causes that can lead to body odor. There are certain medical conditions like thyroid related problems and other hormonal changes in the body that lead to our body emitting an unpleasant smell.

You must have thus noticed many teenagers having a bad body odor due to hormonal changes in their body associated with puberty. It is for this reason that many women approaching their menopause also start having an unpleasant body odor. Liver problems and kidney diseases can also lead to this problem of bad body odor.

If you have certain strong medications, then there are chances that your body carries with it an unpleasant odor. Similarly, it has been found that people who drink and smoke a lot have a bad body odor associated with them.

Along with the given causes, other causes that can cause body odor include fungal infections and bacterial growth in the body leading to skin problems, hereditary factors, and also a weak metabolism.

If you have a lot of stress in your life and if you are living an unhealthy lifestyle where-in you devoid your body with proper hygiene, then you can suffer from the problem of bad body odor.

Thus, keep the causes of body odor in mind so that you can take steps to prevent it.
