varicoseveinsAs the name suggests, spider veins is a condition in which the veins of the person affected are clearly visible as webbed lines in his body, especially in regions like  legs, thighs, nose and cheeks. This article will discuss the various causes responsible for this problem and the symptoms associated with it.

According to medical science, spider veins are a result of the weakening of the valves that control blood flow. There are various causes that can lead to spider veins, in both men and women.

To begin with, this problem can be genetic and linked with hereditary factors. In addition, factors like aging and excessive skin exposure to sun are some leading contributors to this problem. You must have seen many people developing the problem of spider veins as they age.

People who are in the habit of frequently smoking and drinking are susceptible to spider vein problems. In addition, hormonal imbalance of fluctuation and obesity are other causes of spider veins. Thus, this problem is largely observed in pregnant women due to hormonal changes in their body.

Along with the above causes, spider veins are also common in people who stand for a long time. Thus, jobs like those of teaching and others that involve prolonged standing hours can make you vulnerable to this problem.

After looking at the various causes of spider veins, let’s look at some symptoms associated with this problem. As mentioned above, spider veins are characterized by visibility of webbed lines on the body.

In addition, this problem can also lead to cramps at night and general discomfort. Sometimes, this problem can also lead to swelling on the affected area.

The problem of spider veins can be prevented if you try to avoid the various causes of this problem. Lead a healthy lifestyle, eat well, regularly exercise, keep your weight under check, and avoid standing for long hours to reduce your risk of developing the problem of spider veins.
