Carrot Facial Masks

August 29, 2008

You must have heard of the numerous health benefits of carrot, especially its positive effect on one’s eyesight. But did you know that carrots can be extremely beneficial for the skin and face masks can be made from them to nourish one’s skin in a natural way. Since carrots contain invaluable nutrients like glucose, iron, copper, Vitamins C, D, E, K and most importantly carotene, face masks made of carrot can help in nourishing the skin in a natural radiant way. Thus, instead of spending money on artificial cosmetics, one should follow the natural path of life and by following the given simple tips on home made face mask; one can naturally bring out the glow and radiance on one’s face.

Carrot face mask is extremely beneficial for people with oily skin and it also helps in preventing wrinkles thereby retaining your youthful look. In addition, they protect the skin from free radicals thereby promoting the regeneration of healthy skin cells. To prepare this face mask at home, one first needs to peel 2 large carrots and steam them until soft. The carrots should then be mashed into a creamy consistency. One tablespoon of natural honey should be mixed in it as honey has natural healing powers. After this, one should stir 1 tbsp of olive oil and squeeze a few drops of fresh lemon juice into the face mask mixture. While olive oil will help in nourishing and cleaning the skin, lemon is a natural astringent which helps in cleaning the greasy skin. One should then mix mineral water to provide the face mask with a creamy consistency. However, don’t add too much of water as the face mask would then become too watery. Your face mask is ready for use. Gently wash your face and neck with hot water before evenly applying the mask. Keep it for 15 minutes and then rinse your face to attain a natural glow and radiance.
