Cancer Fighting Food

It is not a myth but a reality as it has been found that a healthy and a nutritious diet can help one fight cancer. According to a research, eating food items like broccoli, citrus fruits, onions and soy beans are good for the overall health of a person as plant foods contain phytochemicals in them which help in combating the deadly disease of cancer. In addition, food items like broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower have a chemical component called indole-3-carbinol which helps in combating breast cancer as it helps in converting the cancer-promoting estrogen into a more protective variety. Thus, a diet consisting of the above mentioned food items can provide a relaxing and a stress-free sleep to women who otherwise had sleepless nights due to the fear of developing breast cancer.

One should make it a point to include carrots in one’s diet as the latter contains beta carotene which in turn helps in fighting a number of cancers like those of lung, mouth, throat, stomach, prostate and breast. Similarly, food items like chili peppers and jalapenos help in preventing cancers of stomach. So, a little bit of chili might be too spicy for you but it can provide long term health benefits.

Food items like soy beans and dried beans are helpful as they help in preventing cancerous tumors from developing into harmful ones. Similarly, garlic has a variety of health benefits including preventing cancer as it helps in increasing the activity of the immune cells thereby helping in the breaking down of cancer causing elements. According to the report of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, people who consume raw or cooked garlic face reduced risk of developing stomach cancer or colorectal cancer than their counterparts who don’t include garlic in their diet.

Apart from vegetables and plant items, certain fruits like oranges, grapes and other citric fruits help in preventing cancer as they contain certain powerful antioxidants which work as cancer preventives.
Thus, one should include vegetables and a fruit in one’s diet as a wholesome and a nutritious diet not only makes you feel physically fit, but also helps in making your life a happy and a disease-free one.
