Buying a Ruby?
Many women love to shop for gemstones, especially ruby due to its attractive red color and features. However, gems not only serve the purpose of ornamentation, but are also great repositories of energy which may suit some and not others. Thus, one should study and inquire well about a particular stone before purchasing it.
Gemstones prove beneficial for many people as they are rich in mineral deposits which are essential for one’s growth. There might be a mineral deficiency in one’s body which leads to ill health. Wearing a particular gem helps in counteracting that deficiency thus helping in the restoration of one’s health.
According to the Navagraha system of Planetary Gemology, Ruby is the Gemstone which is used to enhance the powers of the Sun. Since Ancient times, it is referred as the King of Gemstones and it is known to be a protective stone which helps in the preservation of its wearer’s health. In addition, rubies also inspire creativity, wisdom and love. It is also believed that rubies worn by men signified manhood and nobility, while those worn by women invoked passion and power.
Ruby, the red colored stone, corresponds to sun and guards against its harmful rays. It is an auspicious stone and it is believed that if it suits a person, it can provide him with wealth, health and position. Individuals benefited by it get blessed with good health, eyesight, proper blood circulation and a glowing complexion. However, according to astrology, people born on dates 8, 17, 26, 6, 15 and 24 should avoid wearing a ruby. In addition, its effect changes with different constellations and thus, one should first consult an astrologer before buying a ruby so that one can be sure of receiving its positive effects.
It is said that a ruby should be worn on a Sunday. In addition, it should be worn in gold or copper in the ring finger. Rubies are tough, durable stones which can be cleaned with soapy water. However, one needs to prevent the rubies from a prolonged exposure to strong heat or light sources as it can lead to permanent changes in its color.
