Breech Exercises
Did you know that there are exercises which can help you turn the baby to a more favorable position for birth? Exercises thus not only help in keeping a pregnant woman fit and healthy, they can also help in bringing breech babies to normal delivery position. Breech baby is one who adjusts himself in the bottom down position in the pelvis of the mother instead of the conventional head-down position. However, there are certain exercises which can help you out.
One of the most effective exercises for turning a baby in its normal head-down position is termed as the “breech tilt” exercise. The mother should lie on her back and raise her bottom about 15 inches off the floor with the help of some pillows. Hold the position for 10 to 15 minutes. You can also Lie straight on your back and prop your feet against a wall. You should then push your feet against the wall and use this resistance to lift your hips. However, if you feel nauseated or uncomfortable performing these breech exercises, you should discontinue it or consult a doctor to avoid any problem. Visualization is another effective technique of turning a breech baby. Breathe deeply and visualize your baby to turn position with his head toward your pelvis. Visualize this several times a day. You can also massage your abdomen with the help of a gentle lotion. Put your left hand at the bottom of your abdomen and your right hand just above it. Move your hands in a clockwise direction in a slow speed. It has been found that use of sound and light therapy can also be useful for turning the position of your breech baby.
With the help of above given exercises and techniques, pregnant woman can try naturally turning the breech baby in his natural position.
