Benefits of Breastfeeding a Child
There is no denying the fact that a mother’s milk is the best milk for the overall development of a child. Breast milk is a unique nutritional source which cannot be replaced by any other food, including infant formula. It has been found that a breastfed child turns out be much healthier and disease-free as mother’s milk shields the baby from various diseases like respiratory problems, allergies, leukemia and ear infection amongst others. In addition, it also strengthens the immune system of the child and helps in the overall health and development of the child. Most importantly, breastfeeding a child develops a strong physical and emotional relationship and union between the baby and the mother which is a unique and an everlasting relationship.
Breast milk is more digestible than formula as it has been found that cow’s milk contains about two times more of protein than human’s milk. However, such a large amount of protein is not needed by the baby’s body and thus it causes digestion related problems. According to a research, breast fed children are less likely to develop respiratory and food related allergies in the later stage of their lives. In addition, breastfeeding in infancy can protect your child from diseases like Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
If you want your baby to turn out be a smart and an intelligent child, then you should breastfeed him in his infancy as according to studies, breast milk enhances brain development and cognitive development of a child. In short, mother’s milk is the best milk for any child as it provides life-time shielding and protection from various diseases.
While a mothers milk has a preventive and a healing influence on the child, it is not a one way traffic as even mothers get benefited by breastfeeding their babies. It has been found that breastfeeding helps in decreasing the mother’s risk of developing ovarian cancer along with helping in the reduction of weight. Thus, one should always opt for breastfeeding a child so as to lay the perfect foundation for his future development.
