Bedtime Routine for Children

September 1, 2009

bedtimechildDoes your child have the habit of sleeping on time? Having a bedtime routine is essential to help your child get a good night’s sleep which in turn helps him to stay healthy, active and energetic.

In addition, a bedtime routine for babies also helps the parents in avoiding sleepless nights.

As a parent, you must develop a bedtime routine for your children from their early years itself. Set up a sleeping time and ensure that your baby sleeps by that time. This can be done by following the given below tips.

Having a regular night pattern can help your babies to develop the habit of sleeping on time. To help your child get a sound and a timely sleep, you need to create a comfortable environment which helps in making your child feel sleepy.

First of all, you must make your child change into his night clothes, cuddle him, sing him a lullaby, and dim the lights so that your child sleeps on time.

You can also read a book to your child during night time. Similarly, you can also play some night games with your child as a part of pre-sleep routine.

This will help in making night time a special time for your child. In addition, playing games with your child or reading a book for him will help in building up a healthy and a memorable bond between the parent and the child.

There are many children who feel active during the night time and thus feel cranky and irritated when asked to sleep. However, you need to ensure that you set up a healthy bedtime routine for your child.

Help him be active during the day and play games with him before the sleeping time so that your child exhausts his energy and feels sleepy.

Follow the above given tips to setup a bedtime routine for children that will help them get a timely and a sound sleep.
