Baby Teething Symptoms
If your baby is between 4 and 7 months, he might start teething anytime. Thus, it is essential for you as a parent to understand the symptoms of teething in babies so that you can help your child to reach a new stage of life in a much comfortable and an enjoyable way. The symptoms of teething vary with differ babies as for some children it is a long and a painful experience, while for others it might turn out in a much smoother way.
Irritability and drooling are symptoms which are often associated with the process of teething. The pain and discomfort caused by the coming of the first teeth often leads to the child becoming irritable and fussy. Similarly, teething stimulates drooling and if you notice your child drooling more often than normal, then he may be in the process of teething. If your child drools a lot, then it may lead to the formation of chin rashes and thus, it is essential for you to keep wiping the saliva from the baby’s mouth so as to prevent further problems.
If your baby has suddenly developed a desire to chew any solid stuff, then it implies that he may be in the process of teething. This is because a counter pressure from biting and chewing helps in relieving the pressure from under the gums. It is also normal for your child to have red and swollen gums along with a difficulty in sleeping due to the irritability and pain which the process of teething brings along with it.
The major question which troubles every parent is that whether teething causes fever. While most experts do not make any connection between fever and teething, it is found that a child may suffer from low-grade fever during the day the tooth erupts. However, high fever or diarrhea should not be taken as symptoms of teething. Teething might be a painful process for your child but it leads to a new stage in life. Thus, parents should recognize the symptoms of their child and should take extra care to make the child feel comfortable in this new as well as painful stage.
