ARIA: THIS IS HOW WE VEGAS!

When life gets too much (as it so often does) and you just want to escape from the world (we all know that feeling) I’ve found just the place to run away to with the right amount of luxury, indulgence, peace and tranquility! It’s the haven they call ARIA at vegas! Just the remedy you need for a short getaway from reality! Aria, Vegas First stop after check-in, once you’ve ditched the luggage in the capacious room and taken in the stunning views of the clean City Centre below (and the familiar, glittering Vegas landscape beyond) is to hit the pool. But if you want that extra touch of luxury then you need to sort yourself out with a celeb-style cabana. This comes equipped with your own TV, lounge area, mini bar (fresh fruit platters await), and private sun loungers. And like any self respecting VIP, you are also given your own fabulous waitress to attend to your every food and cocktail need to make you feel right at home! Bardot Bardot When it comes to evening meal then it’s my top recommendation that you make your way down to Aria’s only Michael Mina restaurant, the French themed Bardot and start off with their most delicious cocktail “Le Detroit.” From there allow the friendly and attentive staff to advise you on food choice as there are too many gorgeous options. Although, when it comes to dessert I will pass on the recommendation I got from staff around the resort (yes, the dish has become that infamous) to have the Chocolate Macaroon, which is in fact a giant macaroon with just the right ratio of crunch and goo. Although don’t fall for the tip to get it “to share”, I could have totally consumed a whole one to myself! Aria Spa By the next morning you’ll be in the swing of things and want to indulge in more luxury, but before you hit the food and cocktails again, you need to head on over to the Spa for an Aria Signature Massage! This will do the trick in working out any aches and pains and soothe away the stress of life beyond the walls of the resort! And once you have been massaged into a comatosed state of relaxation then you’ll want nothing more than to while away the hours in the many tranquil rooms and pools on offer, from the Salt Room (where you can meditate while inhaling the intoxicating aromas of the salt walls surrounding you.) Or drift off on the heated stone beds that warm you up from within. Or you can sink into the hot pool out on the terrace that overlooks the pool deck below. Thankfully your treatment includes a day pass and you can sneak back to the spa up until 8pm that evening! Julian Serrano Julian Serrano When it comes to lunch then you MUST head on over to Julian Serrano for the most mouth watering tapas you can imagine! I’ll let the photos do the talking (just mind you don’t drool on your laptop) their cocktails compliment each dish perfectly! And their signature dessert (a favorite with most guests I’ve been told) is the Churros with spicy hot chocolate dipping sauce! Make sure you have plenty of time to enjoy lunch here, it is not to be rushed! Zarkana Aria resort’s in house show is the Cirque Du Soliel spectacular that is Zarkana. Now I used to be of the believe that once you’ve seen one cirque show, you’ve seen them all… but not so! Zarkana has great humor and lots of light relief in between the nail biting stunts and acts that will have you holding your breath in awe. (Beware front rowers, there’s audience participation at some points!) Yes, make sure you arrive early to enjoy the cast interacting with audience members – and if you’re really lucky, you might you get sat on and kissed by an unusual creature, as I had the pleasure of experiencing!! Sage After the show you’ll want to take in another show, but of a different nature! Sage restaurant is a sophisticated and elegant eatery where you will be waited on by Bond (no seriously, his name was Bond and he was so welcoming and lovely!) The food was spectacularly presented and their signature Beef Cheek was fall-off-the-bone, melt-in-your-mouth, out of this world fantastic! The cocktails were divine too with interesting lavender twists and retro themes. So by the time it came to bid Aria Resort a farewell, I did so reluctantly, as you can imagine. But not wanting the luxury to end I booked myself aboard the LuxBus America. This coach was equipped with TV screens and our very own in house compere who made the 6 hour journey back to Los Angeles (via Anaheim) bearable! We watched a movie, had a stop in between, were handed nibbles and refreshments along the way. A civilized end to a most amazing trip! Send me pictures of your own vacation and make me jealous I’m not back there with you!
