Addicted to junk food? Here’s what you can do!

September 20, 2008

Do you feed your stomach with junk food more than twice in a day? Do you visit a fast food corner to eat those high calories fried stuffs thrice or more in a week? Well if the answer for both these questions are “yes”, then make sure to put an alert on them now. You will be surprised to read that fast food leaves you feeling tired and depressed instead of cheering you up. Here are some effective ways that can help you in case you are addicted to junk food, just read it out!

Eat little and often:
Eating small quantities of foodstuffs several times in a day helps in keeping your sugar levels in steady condition. This helps you in keeping away from afternoon energy slumps too. You can feed yourself with white pastas, brown rice, grainy bread and khichdi to keep the sugar levels in control plus they will provide you with constant energy levels to carry on with your work.

Take a good amount of sleep:
Make sure to take seven to eight hours of daily sound sleep to keep yourself away from sugary foodstuff that provides you with instant energy levels. Remember whenever you get tired up; your body craves for sugary food to give it an energy boost. Also avoid taking coffee to pick yourself from bed because caffeine makes your sugar cravings even worse. So keep a check on it!

Keep a limit on alcohol intake:
Do you know that alcohol is packed with lot of calories and makes you hungrier more than usual? The next morning hangover causes low blood sugar levels that we often try to combat with greasy fried stuff, which is not healthy for your body. So make sure to drink alcohol in limit to avoid such condition.
