Wedding Saris – look no further for bridal clothing

SocialTwist Tell-a-Friend

Wedding saris can be of any length between four to nine meters. They can be as heavy as 10 Kgs. Apart from the measurements, the clothing looks absolutely stunning on every women!

Bridal sarisare prepared and designed with special detailing as the bride obviously needs to stand out. The color of bridal saris and their style of draping are characteristic to various parts of India, though sari is also a form of bridal wear in Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka

In Punjab the work of Phulkari is done on the wedding saris using golden threads. The choice of color here are all floral. The favorite colors being tomato red, orange and bright pinks.

Green sari is characteristic to a maharashtrian bridal style and it is complimented with traditional Zari work. The embroidery is done using gold and silver thread. The tradition of Pathani sari is prevalent here. Pathan is the place where these form of wedding saris are woven.

Benarasi sari with white Zari border is popular with Bengali brides.

The famous Kanjeevaram saris of Tamil Nadu are the obvious pick for any South Indian bride. The colors chosen for bridal sari are bright red are deep maroons. The sari is accessorized with Oddiannam which is an ornamental belt worn around the waist.

Such is the demand of wedding saris that sometimes one has to get them made to order many days before the wedding. If you are not very selective you may choose from the huge range of designs available in the market that will suit your pocket.

Some modern brides hardly wear petti-coat under their saris. They fear it might appear as few extra inches around the region. Interestingly, some drape it around slacks or comfortable jeans for easy motion. The latest trend of blouses for bridal saris include backless or halter designs. If you believe you cannot carry such styles then a simple blouse will look equally attractive. Choose a sari that not only looks gorgeous on you but is also comfortable for you to carry. The wedding saris complement the brides and not necessarily otherwise.
