Muhurtam
An auspicious date and tiome for the mariiege is selected and this is called as the Muhurtam
Pendlikoothuru
It is the ceremonial bath after putting on turmeric paste by the groom and the bride. Then they new cloths.
Snathakam
This ritual observed in telugu wedding by making the groom wear a traditional silver thread.
Kashi yatra.
It is An intresting ritual in telugu wedding in which the grom pretends renouncing of the word and going to Kaashi , a holy city in hindu hstory. When the father of the bride asks him to marry her daughert and take the responsibility of a householder then , on much persuation, the groom agrees and is escorted to the wedding venue.

Wedding day rituals includes some specila customs apart from the other reguar hindu customs. These are:
Jeelakarra Bellamu
It is an intretsing ceremony in whcih a paste of jaggerey and cumin seeds is applied by bride and the groom in each other`s hands. This is called by the name of Jeelakarra –Bellamu. This is done as the priest recites holy mantras.
Sthaalipaakam
The groom places a silver toe ring on the feet of the bride. A black thread is also tied with black beads . this is done in order to protect her from any evuil influences.
Apart from the common ceremony of Grihapravesha, th post wdding ceremony of Uniting of the mangalsutra is perfopremd.
In this ritual , after 16 days of wedding, two magalsutras are united . this can be done by an elder efmal in the family or by the groom himself. They are arranged in such a manner that they are saved from clashing wit each other.
