Muslim weddings are usually performed in night. Though there is no set restriction about the day of the marriage but the date must be decided after referring to the maulvi. Being traditionally rooted, Muslim marriage has certain ceremonies after the marriage has been signed.
The post wedding Muslim rituals are simple affairs. They are carried on with simplicity and grace.
There is a briefing of all the post wedding Muslim rituals.
Rukhsati ritual
Rukhsati is the other name of Vidaai in Muslim weddings. The bride says her final goodbyes to all her dear ones including her family and childhood friends. Sometimes the bride may become too sentimental while hugging her parents that it may become difficult to ask her to sit in the car and leave with her groom.
While the groom asks the bride to come with him, the father of the bride gives her hand to the groom and asks him to take care of her for life just as he has done till date. Groom gives him his word.
Bride welcome
No sooner does the couple arrive at the groom’s house, the mother –in-law of the bride welcomes her by placing the holy book of Islam-Quran Sharif over the head of the bride. She then asks her to enter into her new house.
Chauthi ritual
The fourth day from the wedding is marked as the Chauthi. It is mandatory of the bride to visit her paternal home on this day. Later, the groom comes to escort her back to his home.
Valima ritual
It just likes modern day reception. The groom and his family give a grand party in the welcome of the bride to her new home. This ritual is marked by grand lay out of dishes for feasting and the relatives dance with full enthusiasm.
