Craving for a grand wedding to be talked about afterwards and the pressure of not having time to plan could be taken care of by matrimonial agencies. But recently the concept of live-in-relationship has shaken the grounds of marriages in metros. As pre-marital sex is becoming more and more common it is destroying mystery that people should experience only after marriage. Believe it or not but it is destroying the people spiritually and emotionally. At least the statistics are in agreement.

Marriages in metros are showing outstanding rates of divorces. In fact Delhi alone has seen over 8000 to 9000 divorce applications giving it the unofficial designation of “the divorce capital”. If we go by numbers then every two out of five marriages in Mumbai are waiting for their divorces.

The increased number of withering marriages in metro may be due a misinterpretation of freedom and desire to have happiness at all lost. Women refuse to any compromise and since they are financially independent they hardly seem to care. The situations of justified adultery in cases where partner is suffering from a chronic disease or is impotent appears very harsh.

Government blames it all upon the internet and media. Acerbic truth is that marriage relationships in metros will bring with them a social unsatisfaction. Anyone has solution to clear up this mess?
