Gujarat is a name of the state which is known for its cultural and traditional values. So just like the state itself, the Gujarati wedding is also known for the rituals and traditions followed by the people there .

May it be the traditions followed in the functions that take place during the wedding, or the dresses that the bride and the groom wear for their wedding. Let’s have a look at the Gujarati wedding attire.

Ethnicity is another name for Gujrati wedding, which is strongly bound to the roots of the culture and traditions. People in the Gujarat wear colourful clothes for the weddings. Gujarati wedding attire reflects the rich culture of Gujarat.

A Gujarati bride prefers to wear a sari for the wedding, which is usually red in colour. Red is the colour of the wedding and is considered to be auspicious for the same purpose. The bridal sari is draped in the proper Gujarati style. Hence the red sari is the most ideal dress for a bride that depicts ethnicity, and traditions. The bride also wears traditional jewellery that compliments their get up and look. These days, wearing designer lehengas for the wedding is really in trend. Stylish yet traditional designer lehengas are preferred by the brides. They want their wedding dress to be best as it’s an occasion that comes once in a lifetime.

The groom in Gujarat wears a kurta and dhoti for the wedding. But this dress is not common and much sorted after in the metropolitan cities. Now days, formal suits are preferred. Designers are also contributing a lot to the Gujarati wedding attire for men. They are coming up with designer western kurta pyjamas, which are the choice of the town.

The bride and the groom wear the best traditional yet modern dresses and look beautiful sitting rite there in the mandap.
