Treating split ends of your hair
Split ends occur when the protective layer or the cuticle is stripped away from the tips of hair. The first step when you have split ends is to trim them to an even length and use nourishing tonics or applications to restore the damage.
Causes of split ends
Common causes are insufficient conditioning or vigorous brushing. Backcombing particularly with poor quality brushes can also lead to split ends. Perming and coloring often can also be one of the causes. Using rollers and hair pins carelessly, excessive heat styling, and non-trimming of the hair regularly can aggravate the problem.
