romantic-road To increase the flow of tourists in the war-ravaged country, the mayor of Augsburg built the Romantic Road in 1951. However, only fourteen of its rooms could be completed before Ludwig’s death.

Fussen

The Neuschwanstein Castle and the Schloss Hohenschwangau are the two lovely castles located near this mountain town.

Besides the above sites, the Romantic Road is dotted with several churches displaying Baroque, Rocco and Gothic architectures. There are numerous hotels along the route.
