Homemade Toning Lotions
- Make a mixture of salt, little water and 2 tbsp malt vinegar. Apply the lotion to your scalp and leave it as it is for 3 hours. Later wash with warm water.
- Make a mixture of rose water, 4 tbsp witch hazel and 2 tbsp lemon juice. Store in a bottle and use once a day only.
- Make a blended mixture of 50 gram grapefruit and 125 gram yoghurt. Refrigerate the mixture for an hour before adding ¼ tsp of sodium benzoate. Apply to the face for 25 minutes and wash off with water.
- Make a mixture of 2 tbsp honey, lemon juice, 2 egg whites and 2 tsp of glycerin. Apply on the face and neck. Remove after 15 minutes with warm water.
- Make a mixture of 2 tsp of sandalwood water, 2 egg whites, 8 tsp fuller’s earth and herbal clay powder in rose water. Apply on the face and neck. Remove after 15 minutes with warm water.
- In a pan, melt 2 cups of lanolin in medium flame. After it melts, add 2 cups of sunflower oil. Remove from pan and add a cup of witch hazel, 2 tsp of sodium benzoate and 2 tsp of wheat germ oil. Store in a bottle. Use at night on hands and neck before sleeping.
- Make a mixture of 4 tsp olive oil and ½ tbsp borax powder. Boil this mixture in rose water. After 20-25 minutes, add half cup of lavender extracts. Refrigerate before use. The lotion can be stored for a long time.
- Make a mixture of dried rosemary and dried thyme. Boil this mixture in a cup of wine for an hour. Add 1 or 2 bay leaves also. When it completely cools off, strain the mixture and store it. Use this lotion daily before going to bed.
Tip: If the skin feels pulled or stretched or dry (as the texture of all skin is not same) after applying lotions containing lemon, then reduce the quantity of lemon next time.
