For being fit as well as for losing extra weight, exercise is the winning option. There is no age barrier for starting exercise. Studies have shown that aerobic activity for 20 to 30 minutes daily is beneficial to both men and women.
Smoking is injurious to your health.
Following diet guidelines, it’s important to avoid fatty meats, burgers, and fried foods. Always use the low fat versions of dairy products such as milk, cream, cheese, etc.
Use limited quantities of nuts, sandwich meats, butter and sauces, etc.
Water consumption of 8 glasses per day is recommended for better health, better diet, and better weight control. Water is important for weight loss. For the best results in weight loss, drink a large glass of ice water just before meals. Eating small meals often and slowly is good.
For aerobic activities consideration should be given to swimming, walking, jumping, etc. All of these need a time duration of at least 20 to 30 minutes.
Walking at any time and any place is good. This is the easiest action you can take for good health. Walk whenever you can! Remember to undertake a proper warm up before walking, so that you don’t strain cold muscles.
Over exercising, crash dieting, and fasting are associated with a slowing down of metabolism which is not desirable.
For eye care, avoid eye strain by looking away from the computer screen from time to time, and focusing on a distant object followed by a closer object. If there is someone you like the look of in the office, this gives you a perfect excuse!
It is not a good idea to skip meals in order to lose weight quickly. Your metabolism starts to work with your first meal after waking. It then speeds up for the next eight hours or so, and then slows down until you sleep again, during which time it remains low.
The cycle is repeated the next morning. Skipping breakfast prevents your metabolism from getting started until lunchtime, and you will miss three to four hours of fat-burning time! If you skip meals during the day, your metabolism will begin to slow down, and not burn off fat. It’s better to eat smaller meals more frequently, so that your metabolism stays working.
