myanmarMyanmar is a country located in Southeast Asia. Up until the year of 1989 the country of Myanmar was called Burma. When the country was in the process of changing its name, they chose the name Myanmar from the name of the regime that was in power at the time, the political group was called the Myanma Naingngandaw. Myanmar is a landlocked country, the borders of Myanmar are created by China to the North and Northeast, while the Southern borders are created by Laos and Thailand.

One of the things that makes Myanmar so intriguing is that it is a melting pot of races. When you are walking down the street you will see Kayin, Kachin, Rakhine, Kayah, Chin, Mon, Bamar, and Shan.  The 60 million people living in Myanmar adds up to 135 different races.

Mynamar is a large country. With approximately 678,500 square kilometers it is the largest country in the southeast Asia, it is also the 40th largest country in the world

Covering Expenses

If you are planning on traveling to Myanmar, you should leave your credit cards behind, the vendors won’t accept them. You should plan on exchanging all of your cash for Kyat, Myanmar’s currency. Make sure that you have enough cash to cover your entire visit. You will have a very difficult time getting more money if your run out halfway through your trip.

The Climate

When you are traveling to Myanmar the way you pack will be determined by the time of year you are going. From June to September the weather you will have to deal with will feel very tropical, the whole nation will be hot and humid. You should expect the sky to be cloudy and rainy.

During the winter months the climate in Myanmar is quite nice. There is a little rain and the sky is clearer. The temperature cools enough to be very comfortable.

Inle Lake

Inle Lake is one of the Myanmar’s most popular places. Although the lake is shallow that doesn’t stop people from having a good time. In addition to hiking and swimming, there are several floating villages that people can visit. Inle Lake is a wonderful spot to find some to the country’s silk traders.
