Tips To Avoid Conflict In A Happy Marriage
Marriage is a very beautiful relationship, perhaps the most beautiful of all. However with all this beauty and love, comes a lot of responsibility, because it is also one of the most responsible relationships ever as well.
A marriage is not so important because of the nature of law, but rather because the two people involved have decided to spend the rest of their lives together, no matter what, simply since they are madly in love with each other. Life is very long, and without doubt one can that not ever day will be the happiest day of your marriage.
Some days you won’t be able to keep your eyes and hands off each other; however some days you might not even talk. All these ups and downs are a part of married. The most important thing to remember is to always overcome these and move on to being happy.
Always remember why you chose to get married to this particular person. That will be your first biggest reason to stop fighting. Sometimes fighting can be for the right reasons; however it is never to continue it for long. It is best to argue it out, reach a consensus and put it all behind. This way the conflict gets resolved and everyone stays happy. What people also must remember is that as a married couple transforms into a family, responsibilities increase and things start to change.
Sometimes the fights can be about your children, or financial predicaments or other related problems. Just always remember that it took to people to make this marriage happen, but only one can break it. In addition to that always remember that at the end of the day you love your partner, as such no fight should ever come between your happiness for too long.
Respect Each Other
Your spouse is valuable and is a treasure to you; as such it is your responsibility to respect him/her. Respect is one of the strongest pillars of a healthy and successful marriage. Disrespect and insults are very easy to throw at someone; however very hard to recover from. As such remember to keep your cool and always respect your partner. You can fight and argue, but in a marriage, there is no room for being cheap with insults and disrespect.
This will only fuel your argument further causing it to go off track, which in turn would adversely affect your marriage. Remember that never count or keep a track the wrongs your partner has done, and worse yet, never ever bring them up in a conversation. You cannot achieve anything by putting the love of your life down. Respecting your spouse is respecting yourself, so have a cool mind and talk it all out.
Learn from the Past, But Don’t Re-Live It
Being married, one can assume that the couple would be fairly aware of each other’s history in all aspects. The important thing to consider here is that throw away that “score card” because you cannot keep a count of all the times your spouse has been wrong. This is not a business, it is a marriage, it is much more special and important. Everyone makes mistakes in the past, you simply need to learn from them and move on.
Always Communicate with Complete Honesty
Communication in a marriage is as important as having food or breathing. You have to be absolutely honest with each other and share everything that you are thinking of.
Even the slightest doubt or negative feeling in your head should not stay closed. You should share it with your spouse and reach a mutual solution to put it behind you. Never let anything build up because if will cause overwhelming fights.
Never Go to Bed with a Fight Unfinished
One of the worst things a married couple could ever do. Every morning is a new beginning, as such going to bed with a fight unfinished would mean that you would not be able to sleep peacefully, and in the morning you will wake up with the same mindset you had last night while going to sleep. This way your entire day will be spoiled and perhaps even filled with more fights. You do not necessarily have to be happily back in love, but you should at least resolve the fight and reach a mutual resolution so that you can put it behind you and move on.
Ego and Arrogance – Not in a Marriage
Everyone is egoistic and arrogant to a certain extent; however these two words can crumble a marriage to the point of no return. It may be the case that your spouse is at fault and you have just had a heated argument. Just remember that you love him/her, as such it is your responsibility to talk everything out. Take some time off to cool off and relax, then with a calm and cool mind talk everything out. Sooner or later one of you will end up apologizing and things will be back to normal. Just remember your partner does not deserve the negative side of your ego and arrogance.
Keep the Romance Alive
Go on a date every once in a while to spice up your marriage. If you have kids, then you could leave them with a relative to have the house to yourself. You enjoy a date and have a nice romantic dinner in a lavish restaurant. Go out of your way every once in a while to show just how special your spouse is to you. At the end of it all, remember that he/she is the reason your are so happy and in love, as such you must treasure him/her forever and always.
Your marriage and your partner are the two closest and most valuable things to you. There is no reason good enough to separate you from them. Being a married demands being more responsible than any other relationship you have ever had, as such it is your responsibility to avoid all conflicts in your marriage. Whatever ones do arise, be sure to solve them right away so you can be happy together because that is the most important aspect of life.
