The main cause of occurrence of weak erection during the intercourse is the inability of the arteries to receive the flow of blood from the heart and aorta. It is defined as an inability to sustain erection strong enough to continue the love making process satisfactorily. It is important that nerve impulse from the brain, spinal column around the shaft, fibrous tissue muscles and veins near the corpora must function effectively to maintain the erection. Weak erection is a form of erectile dysfunction, which can occur due to both physiological as well as psychological factors. A person having erectile dysfunction due to physiological factors is unable to get erection throughout his life, where as a person having erectile dysfunction due to psychological factors will have erection, but is unable to sustain it for a longer duration of time.
The Process of Erection
Male organ is made up of spongy tissues. It consist of two chambers called as the corpus cavernosa. These two chambers are surrounded by another chamber called tunica albuginea. Erection process is greatly affected by brain. During the period of l stimulation, or arousal the corpus cavernosa relaxes. This in turn causes spongy tissues to expand, and get a rich flow of blood. As the result of this the organ expands, and erection is obtained. After the arousal phase is over, the organ again looses the rigidity and becomes flaccid. This is due to the fact that the inflow and outflow channels of the blood are cut off. The blood from corpus cavernosa is disgorged and the erection is lost. The erection can be attained as well as lost within a few seconds. In normal males, the erection is obtained and sustained throughout the intimacy, till the orgasm is achieved. It is also possible for a male with normal erectile functions to achieve multiple orgasm in a single love making session.
