DLF group is the biggest player in the Indian real estate industry. DLF’s mission is to build world-class real estate concepts across its six business lines viz. Homes, Office, Shopping Malls, Hotels, Infrastructure and SEZs.
Homes
The group was founded in 1946 and has since built at least 21 urban colonies in and around Delhi like Greater Kailash, Hauz Khas, South Extension and Model Town. The credit for the growth of Gurgaon from a barren village to one of the hottest realty destinations largely goes to the DLF group and its 3000 acre integrated township called the DLF City.
The home business segment includes a wide range of products like duplexes, row houses, apartments and condominiums; its focus is on higher end of the market. However DLF is now shifting its focus to tier II cities like Kochi as well.
Office
DLF Group is also recognized for changing the face of Indian workspace with some brilliant and aesthetically built offices customized to meet the tastes of its clients.
Shopping Malls
DLF Group has continued with its trendsetting reputation by spearheading the development of shopping malls and entertainment spaces in the Indian Retail Sector. It has plans to develop 44 million sq. feet as shopping districts, shopping centers and super luxury malls in metros and other key urban destinations across India.
The group is now venturing into Hotels, Infrastructure and SEZs. DLF has joined hands with Hilton Hotels to together develop world-class hotels in India. In collaboration with Laing O’Rourke, DLF plans to build expressways, ports and other mega structures of India’s new economy.
DLF Group is aggressively pursuing the development of SEZs across the country. It plans to invest between Rs. 30000 to Rs. 40000 crores for the purpose. The projects in the pipeline include multi-purpose SEZs in Amritsar, Ludhiana, Gurgaon and Ambala.
Corporate Social Responsibility
Apart from creating world-class infrastructure the DLF group is fulfilling its corporate social responsibilities as well. It has set up Swapana Sarthak informal schools for children of construction workers. It has also set up DLF learning excellence centres, rural primary health centres and vocational training centres for empowerment of villagers.
